Volvo Penta 120b split anode adapter kit

Hi,
I wish to change my Volvo Penta 120b zinc ring anode to a adapter kit which will let me change the ring anode without removing hub and prop.
My question is this...the kit comes with two stainless steel adapter kit fittings to screw onto bearing housing.Has anyone used such a kit and more importantly ,is there not an issue with galvanic corrosion due to the stainless steel contacting the aluminium bearing housing?

No. The screws that hold the standard ring anode on are stainless and provide the electrical contact between the zinc and the aluminium housing. The split kit has never been particularly popular as in return for the greater ease of replacement it has reduced zinc bulk so shortening potential life. If you don't have a short life issue probably worth doing.

It does make it extremely quick/easy to change the anode though... and no having to remove the prop..

If you leave the prop on for years it might never come off
Worth giving it a treat and re greasing it at least
