    Upper Thames

We loved the Upper Thames, both our Freemans were well suited up there, both had marinised Ford Anglia engines put putting away like a sewing machine, very easy to work on using only a thimble full of fuel an hour. Byron, what a top bloke 🙏

I'd happily stand you a fabulous traditional English at The Galley, the only place to go for breakfast when the sun is shining run by Brian Tuitt, ex Bad Manners drummer and his lovely lady.

Long term boat project and family life, What (not) to do?

There are some great eating places within three minutes walk of the harbour. Italian, Thai, Turkish, Indian and a plethora of English food from a traditional breakfast to upmarket burgers and fine dining with a view.

    Swing Out Helm Seats

It's expensive for a bit of welded aluminium box section as I don't think it includes the seat but I'm sure a fabricator could knock something up to your requirements.

    Hatteras 54 Anteva

No but they were running fine about three years ago, they just couldn't shut one down remotely and had to go to the engine and stop it manually. Personally, I can't see the value in it, over the years people have only taken out of the boat and put nothing in, apart from a huge TV. Is looks...

    Hatteras 54 Anteva

Up for auction part II 🙈 Good afternoon Special Online Marine Auction - Mon 20th to Tues 21st May 2024 We felt that Antiva did not reach a wide-enough audience at last week's auction. This is a valuable boat and following consultation with Ramsgate Marina we are instructed to re-offer...

Chemical toilets - how often and where do you empty them?

We had one on a couple of our early boats and a cassette on the caravan. Only ever used by two but emptied every two days without fail, if you use enough blue fluid then it shouldn't smell but they can become surprisingly heavy and unmanageable. As for leaving it for four weeks before emptying...

    Hatteras 54 Anteva

All very unusual! The winning bidder did not know the vessel had to vacate the marina within two weeks or they would have to start to pay mooring fees. When a prospective bidder signed up for a contract to to bid and gain a bidding number, they would be legally bound to abide by the contract...
