All very interesting. I have conducted a little experiment and ordered some other non OEM elbows from a couple of the bigger outlets so I can compare. I too wouldn't be surprised if they are all the same unit. It will cost me a few quid in postage but my curiosity has got the better of me.

On all the risers have seen/replaced , construction was always cast iron body with stainless steel interior tube.
It was always the cast iron that crumbled , stainless sleeve inside was without exception as good as the day it was fitted, no matter wether it had Volvo Penta embossed on the cast iron or not.
£200 + buys an awful lot of fuel or nearly another two risers.

Looks good. Does it have the water outlet?
Doesn't sadly, elbow only. I plan to reuse the flanges/pipe and just renew the gaskets. That being said, none of them did.

The second half of my experiment arrived today. Same scenario as yesterday, identical, right down to the number cast on the side, except this one cost north of £300 quid.

Conclusion: I am more than happy to put my ebay elbows on. If you are reassured by greater price tags 'other' elbows are available! However, the ebay elbows are NOT stainess steel as advertised. I will raise this issue with ebay as it would have been a waste of time ordering if I wasnt happy to go with standard cast iron.
