Never mind got there in the end by pulling with pliers until the innards came out then levering off with a screwdriver.
Fair to say this thermostat hasn't worked in some time, fortunately stuck in the open position.
Seems unlikely heading in to shortened days and worsening weather and unlikely the charter company would agree to it.
Concerto went round last year and he's a motivated guy in a well found boat and I think it took him longer than 10 weeks in peak season.
If it was your own boat you've always...
I delivered a Farr 40 once from cork to Southampton and that did 10 knots most of the time under kite. Not a relaxing experience however and mostly a shell beneath decks.

Just got a new alternator with a coveted W terminal so then I thought great, now I can fulfil a lifetime ambition of having a tachometer.
Except I'm struggling to find one, preferable 52mm up to 4000rpm. ASAP only seems to have huge expensive ones, 85mm.
Doesn't have to be alternator driven...
Easy starter for 10 for someone here I'm sure.
Can you identify what each of the terminals here are, and is one of them the elusive W terminal for a tacho?
Living on a Halcyon 27...just no. The Mac 32...sails really well would be an optimistic statement but if your living on it then comfort is the only consideration at that price. Preferably it works too.
