How to remove yellow stains on boat

I use “Grunt”. I know it isn’t as cost effective as buying pure oxalic acid crystals, but I find it goes further than Y10 (which is also pretty good).

Who really makes those branded plastic toolboxes?

DeWalt are part of the “Stanley Black & Decker” group. Brands So not surprising that they use the same cases… Just noticed that I’d been beaten to it by Daverw

    Dehler rudder architecture

That would seem more logical - there would be little point going to the expense of tapering that large piece of aluminium stock you showed in your photo unless it was load bearing (in bending).

    Dehler rudder architecture

What makes you so sure the rudder stock is stainless? Is there another bearing in the hull below the one you can see?

Do spare gas bottles need to be in a gas locker?

I’ve seen a couple of boats with a spare stored 8n the chain locker. Makes sense if there’s a drain hole at the bottom for the gas to escape.

    Beal Rope Cleaner

I have used a Beal rope cleaner for a few years now. They work brilliantly. I typically fill two 40L flexible builders buckets with water and transfer the rope from one to the other and back again a few times. I find they work even better if you keep the brush submerged when pulling the rope...

    Yanmar 1gm 10 starting backwords!

Glad you got it all sorted out. Did you manage to get all that doe at a reasonable price, or was it getting towards the cost of fitting a new engine?

How fast can you go with 3.5hp (on water)?

The Hickman Sea Sled was the forerunner of the Boston Whaler, with some modifications to avoid the issues with prop ventilation in rough water that plagued some of the Sea Sleds. Classic Whaler: Boston Whaler: Reference: 13 Foot: Original Hull Design

    Removing old seacocks.

On my old seacocks I managed to undo the nut a couple of turns, then it didn’t go any further. That allowed me just enough space to pull the seacock outboard a few mm and use a multi tool fitted with a steel cutting blade to cut through the threaded shaft. Came off in no time with very little...

me Too. The image quality is surprisingly good, viewed on my iPad. you need to watch focal lengths - many of them are very short focus and anything over about 20cm away is very blurry.

Studland Eco moorings will cost you this year

Incidentally, the link that Redwing posted says that they have been given funding by FASS to install the rest of the 100 ecomoorings in 2024. Are the £10 fees from these going to go to the sea horse trust as well?

Installation of eco-moorings at Studland Bay | boatfolk which states.. boatfolk and The Seahorse Trust Studland Bay is a popular destination for boaters, however the dropping of anchors has damaging consequences for both the seabed and the creatures which call it their home. That's why we've...

Studland Eco moorings will cost you this year

Looking at the boatfolk website now it is pretty obvious, but it wasn’t always like that!

Studland Eco moorings will cost you this year

I made a donation to boatfolk after using a mooring at Studland last year or the previous one. I thought that it would go to the cost of upkeep or to providing more moorings, since they were virtually all taken every time we went and they are actually quite convenient. I was somewhat surprised...

    Smoking Yanmar

I was going to say the same thing - worth changing the oil. It should be a mineral oil - if someone has “upgraded” to semi or full synthetic then you can get bore glazing, which can result in lower compression and some oil burning.
