Perkins with a dead heat exchanger

Well I assumed (never assume!!) that the indirect heat exchanger was leaking and had been removed. As the raw water passes through the hx its then combined with the exhaust gas and cools the exhaust pipe and muffler..so was wondering how the exhaust was now being cooled...

The sale of cars and boats etc in Spain are subject to a tax which is payable by the purchaser...I believe its a % of the purchase price.

    Polish yacht registration in Spain

I read it to mean the boat is in Spain and under a Spanish flag registration, and wants to change to Polish flag. Karnic 2450 - thinking of buying - any views

Back in the days I had a Mercury 50 it was a rule of thumb 1 gal per 10 hp pe hour ..so mine 5 gal per hour This I found to be quite accurate going wot for 15 mins out from Lime Regis fishing for the day and 15 mins back. New engines today are of course more efficient..

Chemicals for flushing out cooling system of indirect cooled engine

inhibitors are not needed in high temperatures....is that what you are saying? My experience in high temperature countries was coolant (antifreeze/water 50/50 mix) was required and recommended by the car manufacturers. I also found that the recommended mix had better cooling than just water.

    Perkins woes

Agreed...it needs checking all possibilities before attacking it with spanner.....it is a problem that HG is the first solution...I have my doubts but then I'm happy if I'm wrong.
