    Free to a good home.

Hi, I have some lines of various lengths no longer needed since the sale of our boat, and the next boat being med-based (as and when we find it!). Collection from my home in the village of Oakley, a couple miles west of Basingstoke, 10 minutes from the M3. Free to a good home, but would...

ebay - two inflatable tenders for sale

Two tenders for sale on ebay here H2O - SG230STS The first tender was bought circa 2007/2008 from Force4 at Deacons. H2O were one of their own brands at the time. Stored out of the sun, lightly used and still fully fuctional but with some marks and scars as would be expected on a 15/16 year...

    New build Sanlorenzo SL96A 2024

My eyes are hurting at seeing the raw fibreglass. As my old boat building mentor told me, the customer should love the lines and never see the joins! The overall look is stunning though, and I am loving the addition of the steering wheel controls. Please tell me the trim tabs are on paddles!

    Cabin Boat or Motor Home

As someone who has given up having a larger boat berthed and available to use and stay on most weekends, and as an owner of a 8.5m, 5tonne 'tag axle' axle motorhome, I feel qualified to offer an opinion. I love boats. Having being born within sound of the sea it has been hard to not to have...

    Are you there ?

I still pop in to take a look around, it is not quite the place it once was. As for what I have been up to, spent the last few years dealing with medical issues and doing some property development. Sold the boat and bought a 30ft land yacht in 2016 which feeds the need to travel. Keep...

How long do I remain boatless ?

its been five years since we sold ours Trevor. Bought a large motorhome straight away and started a couple of big projects which are now coming to an end. Started looking again, but can't see anything we like at the price we want to spend, so may just flip the cash over into another...

Would a Motorhome holiday suit a Motorboater?

Mont Saint-Michel is a must visit. There is an aire within cycling distance and a campsite in the village but I would recomend using the campsite attached to the Mercure hotel actually within the visitor centre which is great for jumping on the late buses (free and run till midnight) when the...

    Coppercoat – The Complete Process

I have no first hand experience of CC but from my working knowledge of epoxy I expect the instructions regarding applying the next layer of epoxy while the previous layer of epoxy has not cured is to enable a chemical bond between the two layers. Allowing the previous layer of epoxy to cure...

Would you wax a brand new boat?

+1 I look after a few boats with a range of protection from marine grade wax through to A-Glaze and GTechniq. From experience, the waxes tend to hold off the aging better than the coatings but the coatings do have the edge in the battle to stop staining and black streaks are way easier to remove.

    Hair line cracks

Go on, give us a clue, what make and model, size, inboard/outboard engine.... :encouragement: Out of interest, is there an internal bulkhead that lines up with the cracks? Does it line up with where the lifting strops would have been used? You could quickly measure back from the porthole...

Cracks on a new Boat( Photos attached )

Purely my take on things but I seem to see more on dry stored boats with thin or tall centre consoles and I put it down to vibration from road and/or air resistance when being towed. It is not unusual on the M3 to see ribs and fishers on trailers being towed at 70mph (or more)!

Cracks on a new Boat( Photos attached )

In answer to your question, yes you may find that they continue to appear as I expect they are a result of stress in that area. To be honest, I often see it on boats transported by trailer which would appear to be due to the vibration generated by the road surface. The good news is that they...
