Treating the bottom of my Iron Keel

Might be no issue with that boat but there are plenty of GRP boats that would be seriously compromised by being suspended on a few pads.

Treating the bottom of my Iron Keel

You’d have to be very careful about how much load is on each pad of the cradle. Boats normally rest on the hard with most of their weight on their keels and the cradle taking a little load but mostly just keeping the boat upright.

    VHF Connection confusion

Just their marketing of an N connector. You do get a nice wide flange and gasket on the socket and a boot to go over the plug though.

    VHF Connection confusion

If they’re fitted properly N connectors are brilliant. They’ve even got water resistant properties which is more that SO239 and PL 239 have. (But I still use a waterproof boot and self amalgamating tape etc.).

What to do if somebody has squatted on your mooring ?

True to a degree. However you can go back to the court and the court can either go after the debtors earnings (directly from their employers if they are earning) or send in bailiffs to seize goods. All costs added to the debt.

    Orca attack

You do, but again, we had no problem. We only day ‘sailed’ so we could always keep a lookout ahead. Daysailing also adheres to the request of the local authorities as it’s easier for the rescue services to tow a damaged boat in by day. Fortunately we didn’t have to use their services. The...

    Orca attack

That’s the story we’d heard and been warned about. However we sailed that coast 18 months ago and had zero hassles with tunny nets. In fact we hugged the coast staying in about 17 metres of water or less to avoid the orcas. I admit it was close to flat calm day after day so there was no problem...
