It was pretty nasty down here in the Fal today, a 30knot+ southerly blowing straight up. I got a call from the yard guy to say he had heard a boat in the area that we moor ours had been washed ashore but didn’t know who, I quickly checked the onboard Blink cameras to see we were ‘merrily’ banging up and down but still on the mooring ball so it wasn’t us.
This evening I took the dinghy out to check her over, still 3 ft swell and we were all good but not the poor guy behind us. A 35ft Malo broke her moorings and washed up. The recovery team had just arrived but couldn’t get her off, probably because the swell was as still rolling in. A sad sight.
