Absolutely.
I think I’ve said before that I was really surprised when I spent my first night on the F55. The mattress was shockingly good. I’d never heard of Vispring who it transpires are a well established manufacturer in Plymouth. On this project every element is hand selected and researched by JFM but my largely off the shelf approach meant if things weren’t to my liking I would have changed them. As it happens Princess did the hard yards for me.

Yup the tender needed smashing about a bit - the factory originally is awful. Williams are good in some ways and have done a great job in cornering the market, but some of their product design is properly 1990s imho and their ability to deliver an order to spec is even worse than that in my actual experience on this occasion. All a bit 6/10. Great the GRP is such an easy material to cut and shut invisibly so it looks factory.

We made our own matrass (well my wife did the sewing and I did the cutting) this is the first time she has used a sewing machine too. Total cost €99.98
. You can teach yourself sewing quite intuitively, as your wife has done there, and as Hurricane has done with his covers. I gotta admit to having a Sailrite myself, and I do odds and ends because DIY sewing is often simpler than all the faff of getting someone in to do it. Did you put the foam that way up deliberately?
The spikes you can feel with your hands if you press on the matrass but there is a topper inside the cover that evens it out a lot, you don't feel it laying on it.Very nice job

I'm not sure about 'prim', or even if it was actually a lady sales person, I think that was added later to spice the story up a bit (not that it needed much spicing!).
Also not convinced that, upon being ejected from the stand, the sales person (whether, male, female, prim or otherwise) was heard to say 'Look, when I said you could leave a deposit...', but it all helps to embellish a good tale.

Thanks for that link Roa312. Yes that is indeed my first Squadron 78. It was at London boat show (Excel) in Jan 2011 and delivered to me immediately afterwards, and I ran it for 1.5 seasons then sold to a Swedish guy in July 2012. He ran it for several years based in Sweden, then sold it, still in Sweden, and I guess the 3rd owner is now selling it in the ad you have kindly linked. Looks nice and brings back memories
Seems slightly over priced (£1.35m GBP vat paid) but good luck to them. Nice to see it so well kept.
