I'm sure it would but if you can't find one in sound condition, how about looking at a Twister? Same size, same designer, same sea-kindly hull form and, if you were to buy a composite model, ie with a GRP hull and deck, you will have a boat that looks, and is, a classic without the maintenance...
Yes, that seems to be the position as I understand it.
I don't suppose the amount of VAT would be great, given the age of the boat but I can't be sure of that.
As a matter of fact, and following a trial sail this morning, I concluded a (provisional) sale with a very experienced French sailor...
The OP could, for example, do a lot worse than buy my Twister, which is basically sound but "needs tidying" as they say in the motor trade, for not a huge amount more than his £5k budget and circumnavigate the UK (or the world) in her.
She is in France but by the time he had sailed her back to...
That's interesting. I didn't know that.
And a bit worrying as I have some WEST hardener that is more than 20 years old that I was planning to use this summer!
What about the resin, does that have a shelf life?
Perhaps you make the hole circular, then taper it very slightly before driving in a plug made from a piece of steel rod with a matching taper.
Then silver solder the plug in place.
For the silver solder to 'take' the plug must fit tightly and the mating faces spotlessly clean.
Finally grind...
I have quite a lot of bronze countersunk woodscrews in various sizes and I'm sure I could find a few of the size you need BUT they are at home and I am away Twistering for a few weeks.
If you want to buy some bronze screws rather than wait for my freebees, Anglia Stainless Ltd sell them...
Dunno. We don't own one.
We have a round plastic washing up bowl which, together with a sponge and a kettle of hot water, does just as well.
The bowl fits perfectly into the Jabsco bog.
